This agreement is part of their joint efforts to strengthen their strategic partnership, support the logistics sector, and enhance the Kingdom's position as a global logistics center, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by His Excellency the Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih; His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Eng. The Falcon City project, whose agreement was signed by SAL CEO Omar bin Talal Hariri and Silla Managing Director Dr. Rakan Al-Harthi, enhances the attractiveness of the Malham area north of Riyadh, home to the Saudi Falcons Club. This area is considered one of the region's most prominent cultural and heritage landmarks. Through its local and international programs, activities, and events, it has contributed to supporting tourism and cultural activity, enhancing integration between economic projects and heritage activities, attracting visitors and investors, and consolidating the region's position as an integrated destination that combines the modern economy with the preservation of the Kingdom's cultural heritage.
The SAL CEO emphasized that the launch of the new logistics zone is a significant addition to the company's capabilities, given the area's strategic location near King Khalid International Airport, as well as the main roads and railways that connect the various regions of the Kingdom. This strengthens its position as an integrated center for shipping and distribution operations, contributing to supporting the Kingdom's leading role as a major hub for the movement of goods in the region and the world. He explained that this investment, estimated at 4 billion Saudi riyals to develop a model logistics zone, comes within the framework of implementing SAL's strategic plan, which aims to strengthen its position as a national logistics leader according to the highest international standards. This plan aims to provide high-quality Class A warehouses and storage spaces that meet all requirements, while ensuring innovation in advanced services and facilities equipped with security systems, climate control, and energy usage, in addition to adhering to environmental standards and adding value to supply chain management, thus contributing to supporting economic prosperity in the Kingdom. For his part, Dr. Rakan Al-Harthi, Managing Director of Sila, indicated that the project represents a qualitative shift in the development of the Kingdom's logistics infrastructure. He explained that Falcon City is more than just a development project; it is an integrated economic destination that aims to provide a modern business environment that supports various sectors. He noted that the partnership with SAL Logistics Services will contribute to providing modern facilities that meet the needs of local and international companies and enhance the flow of business and investment.
The SAL Logistics Zone is a key component in developing the logistics infrastructure, in line with the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics. It aims to raise the efficiency of supply chains, reduce operating costs, and attract major international companies to invest in logistics services in the Kingdom. It also aims to improve the competitiveness of the logistics sector by providing an integrated business environment in accordance with international standards and supporting the national economy by creating investment opportunities and new jobs in the sector.
The Falcon City project represents an advanced model for the concept of integrated cities. It extends over an area of 14.4 million square meters in the Malham area, north of Riyadh, and enjoys a strategic location that is easily accessible.
The project includes a group of vital facilities, including: the Riyadh Exhibition Center Conferences, an advanced logistics area attracting major international companies, an airstrip, and an aircraft maintenance area, enhancing the efficiency of air transport and freight. The project also includes economic, commercial, residential, hotel, and entertainment zones, as well as an outlet mall, to meet the aspirations of the project's investors, residents, and visitors.
