Trading economics- The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index, measuring global shipping costs, continued to advance for the seventh straight session on Monday, up 0.3% to a fresh high since January 9th at 1,871 points. The capesize index, transporting 150,000-tonne cargoes such as iron ore and coal, increased by 0.6% to 3,163 points; and the supramax index rose for the ninth consecutive day, adding 9 points to 1,198 points. Conversely, the panamax index, tracking ships carrying coal or grain weighing 60,000 to 70,000 tonnes, extended declines for the fourth day, down 1.1% to a two-week low of 1,578 points.
