A statement issued by Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company confirmed that an agreement had been reached to establish a new contractual framework regulating direct commercial cooperation between the two parties. This agreement comes in light of the strategic changes that have occurred in global shipping alliances, particularly after Hapag-Lloyd withdrew from THE Alliance and joined the GEMINI Alliance with Maersk Shipping Line. This agreement aims to develop cooperation mechanisms in the field of container handling services and is a strategic step towards expanding the customer base and increasing operational efficiency, enhancing the company's ability to provide an integrated package of advanced logistics services. This visit comes as part of Hapag-Lloyd AG's commitment to strengthening joint cooperation with Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company (DCH) and reviewing the latest developments and operational expansions taking place at the terminal, thus strengthening the long-standing strategic partnership between the two parties.
The delegation was received by Rear Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal, Executive Managing Director of DCH, who began the meeting by congratulating Mr. Albert Tafouka on assuming his new position, wishing him success in his future endeavors.

A range of modern services and advanced operational capabilities offered by the company were also reviewed, including: The Export Packing Station: With a total area of 13,200 square meters, it is equipped to meet customer needs and keep pace with market developments. Rail transportation services: This enables the efficient transport of containers, both full and empty, to all Egyptian ports. Vehicle handling and storage services: This reflects the diverse logistics services available within the station and its ability to handle various types of goods. Container repair services: In accordance with the latest international standards, this service includes technical inspection and repairs for all types of containers using modern equipment and specialized personnel. Refrigerated container inspection (PTI) services: This service is provided by the company's professional technical team, with original spare parts provided to ensure quality service. Direct handling from platform to train: This advanced operational feature contributes to reducing work cycle time and achieving the highest operational efficiency. The ability to handle large and heavy containers: This service utilizes specialized equipment and a specialized team capable of handling non-standard projects and loads. These efforts come within the framework of implementing the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and in line with the political leadership's vision to transform Egypt into a regional hub for transit trade, logistics services, and maritime transport.
