Swedish Monthly GDP Growth Slows to 0.4% in April

The Swedish economy expanded 0.4% month-over-month in April 2025, slowing from an upwardly revised 0.9% growth in March. “Swedish economic activity increased slightly in April with higher household consumption as well as rising production in both goods and service-producing industries", says Melker Pettersson Loberg, economist at Statistics Sweden. Household consumption was up 0.5% on the month and private sector production increased 2.3%. Year-on-year, the GDP grew 1.2% in April, following a downwardly revised 0.7% expansion in the previous month.
