Dubai launches Steel Manufacturers Business Group

Dubai Chamber of Commerce has announced the launch of Steel Manufacturers Business Group, which aims to strengthen the competitiveness of local steel companies and enhance the sector.

The group enables the industry players to exchange their expertise and knowledge and consider policy changes to improve the business environment, according to a press release on Thursday.

Through the group, the members will raise the market issues to the authorities, maintain the efficiency of the UAE's steel market, meet the domestic and regional demand, and balance supply and demand.

The Chairman of Steel Manufacturers Business Group, Bharat Bhatia, said: "The purpose of SMG is to help keep the steel market efficient in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, in order to meet the domestic and regional demands, balancing the supply and demand equation."

Bhatia added: "Our major focus would be inviting the trading community group to have a hand, glove relationship, and support the local market adjusting the desire of the traders. Our purpose is to develop a positive relationship between manufacturers and traders in favour of the economy."
