OKAZ is an offspring of “Mohamed Hamed Financial Advisor & Stockbroker” a private firm, established in 1984, when the late Dr. Mohamed Hamed joined the Stock Exchange as a Committee member and a licensed broker. He was elected president of the Cairo Stock Exchange for the years 1987, 1992 & 1993 and played an active role in the formulation of the currently prevailing capital market law # 95 of 1992.

Prior to that, Dr. Hamed, who held a Chartered Accountant degree from Birmingham University in the U.K, was engaged in several senior financial positions, starting with Financial Manager and Board Member of Heliopolis Co. for Housing and Development then Advisor to the President of the Central Authority for Accounting in Libya and finally, Financial Controller of Al-Futtaim Group in Dubai.

In 1993 OKAZ Stockbrokers & Investment Consultants was incorporated as a private, family owned enterprise under the new Capital Market Law. It has since established itself as a credible institution with a strong foundation of success based on the ability to adapt to changing times, market conditions and clients’ needs.
